Celebrating FiftyRetiree R.S.V.P.
Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board is marking a momentous occasion, celebrating their 50th anniversary as a Board.
Catholic Education is nothing new in Thunder Bay; Port Arthur and Fort William have embraced Catholic Education for well over 125 years. However, this anniversary is significant to Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board staff, past and present. This anniversary illustrates the strength, tenacity and motivation those past trailblazers had, creating a Board where everyone could come as they are, regardless of their background and belong, uninhibited by their spiritual beliefs.
The Lakehead District Roman Catholic Separate School Board as it was formally called, has transformed and changed. Over the years, Thunder Bay Catholic has become a mosaic of cultural identity, individuality and denomination; creating an environment of compatibility through their unwavering faith and spirituality.
As part of the yearlong celebration, schools, along with the Board will host birthday parties and festivities, with details forthcoming on Social Media.
Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board invites past and present students and staff to share their memorabilia and memories! Please contact the Board Office or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Lakehead District Roman Catholic Separate School Board came into being on January 1, 1969 in accordance with Ontario Regulations concerning District Combined Separate School Zones by amalgamating four smaller Catholic School Boards. Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board is currently comprised of two High Schools, three Senior Elementary schools and fifteen Elementary Schools.
